Lahore, Government of Punjab has introduced a new online admission system for getting admission in public colleges of Punjab province. Students of Punjab province can apply for getting admission in the public colleges of Punjab province online at inter level through this system. This online facility was only for the students who pass matriculation under any educational board of Punjab province.
Online College Admissions System (OCAS) is yet in initial stages and initially it was introduced in only 24 colleges of Punjab province including 8 colleges of Lahore. But still after a week of matric result 2011 announcement Online College Admissions System has not provided the facility to the candidates for apply online.
The procedure of applying through Online College Admissions System is very easy students just have to fill their admission form while sitting in front of their computers, there is Rs-25 fee for applying for admission in first year online for each study course and if students wanted to apply for more than one courses or in more than one colleges he/she has to pay Rs-25/study course. After submitting the fee students can submit their application form online. Click here to apply online.
Currently students are not able to apply only for the prescribed colleges because the admission form on the website is not given yet. According to the helpline operator Muhammad Amjad the admission form is not available and it would be available within two or three days. He further informed that they are uploading the matric result 2011 of Punjab boards in the system that would take two or three days and right after the result uploading the online admission facility will be available.
Sectary Higher Education Haseeb Tahir said that every system has some issues in the start due to this we’ve initially started online college admissions system in only 24 colleges and also provide the manual application process to the students.
